Max and Jochen List, the authors of the five short stories „MEN WITH WOMEN“, are related, both work as copywriters, and live in Berlin and Bavaria, respectively. Max is a millennial, Jochen a boomer. This is their first work of literary fiction to be published in book form.
Otherwise, they look back on a substantial number of texts across a variety of genres: advertising copy, film treatments, speeches, user manuals, newspaper articles, academic publications, annual reports, company chronicles, magazine contributions, social media posts, among others.
They have received numerous awards for their work-from the Art Directors Club in Germany to the international New York Festivals prize.
Their literary role models range from Adalbert Stifter to John Irving, from Theodor Fontane to Richard Russo. As copywriters, they admire Bill Bernbach and David Ogilvy.
Their decision to write together stems, not least, from the realization that they regularly arrive at unconventional but compelling results when working as a duo-results they likely wouldn’t have achieved individually.
